Engineering Growth From Anywhere
Most agencies introduce their teams with coordinated headshots, polished offices and carefully placed laptops.
Our reality looks a little different.
There are quick Google chat messages, changing priorities, honest feedback, failed tests and people in different time zones solving the same commercial problem.
Wandering Lion is fully remote. We don’t have a shared office or a watercooler.
What we do have is a growth engine built around three connected parts:
Strategy sets the direction.
Execution builds the system.
Operations keep it moving.
As the Brand and Conversion Copywriter, I rely on all three.
“Knowing everyone's roles, strengths, and quirks makes collaborating so much easier, which naturally leads to stronger, higher-converting copy... finding the right words to write compelling, growth-focused copy becomes a very natural process.”
— Leigh
Here’s who keeps the engine running.
Chapter One: Vision and Strategy
Before anything gets built, launched or scaled, we need to know what problem we’re actually solving.
An ad can’t rescue an unclear offer. A polished website can’t fix weak positioning. More content won’t repair a confusing customer journey.
That’s where creative direction and commercial strategy meet.
Ryan
CMO — Creative Director + Production

The Wandering Lion name started in 2017 during a period of travel through Australia.
"I started the journey on my own in 2017. I have a big blue lion tattoo on my shoulder, so the “wandering” part became a bit of a joke as my wife and I moved across the globe for her basketball career... as if I were the wandering blue lion.
The original logo, which Eugene recently revived, featured a torch moving through the night with a lion emerging through the flames... that’s how the name and logo came to be."
Ryan leads the creative side of the business by giving people direction without removing their perspective.
“I like to try to lead with vulnerability, meaning nobody's perfect... you can pick it up yourself and have your own interpretation of it because that's the way that we can all flourish together.”
His standard for the work is simple.
“The whole goal is quality, because that'll be the only thing to stand apart from everybody else.”
Chris
COO — Strategy + Operations

Chris builds the commercial and operational structure behind the creative work.
That includes positioning, customer journeys, delivery systems, reporting and the processes required to make growth repeatable.
“Managing a remote team can easily turn into agency chaos if you aren't careful... it really comes down to giving them a rock-solid base.”
Some of that structure came from learning what didn’t scale.
“Early on in any business, you test things that eventually just don't scale.”
The result is the sequence that now guides Wandering Lion:
“Our entire operational foundation is built on one non-negotiable sequence: Foundation First → Build Properly → Scale Predictably.”
That sequence protects clients from adding more marketing activity before the business is ready to convert it.
“If a client's brand and messaging aren't credible, we absolutely will not scale their marketing spend.”
Chapter Two: The Foundation
Once the direction is clear, the team builds the system underneath it.
That means visual consistency, reliable websites and automation that removes repetitive work without removing human judgement.
Eugene
Graphic Designer

Eugene believes good design improves faster when it’s shared early.
“I think it comes down to having open communication and being comfortable asking questions... I also like showing work early instead of waiting until it's perfect, so the team can give feedback, and we can refine it together.”
That process keeps design connected to strategy.
“Once those foundations are defined, creating new assets becomes much faster because every design decision is guided by the same visual system.”
Fewer random design decisions. Fewer debates over which shade of orange is almost right.
Tomas
Web Developer & IT

Tomas builds websites for the business a client is becoming, not only the business they are today.
“A scalable foundation means building the website so it won't fall over when the business grows. Fast-loading pages, clean code, good hosting, proper SEO structure...”
That work depends on direct communication across development, marketing, design and copy.
“If marketing spots something that doesn't look right, they send a message or a screenshot instead of waiting for a meeting... That back-and-forth saves a lot of time.”
And when something does break, honesty matters.
“Nobody likes mistakes, but being upfront about them builds way more trust than pretending nothing happened.”
RJ
Web AI & Automation Developer

RJ uses automation to reduce repetitive work, not human connection.
“I see AI as something that should remove repetitive work, not human interaction... automation isn't about replacing conversations—it's about making the conversations we do have more valuable.”
He also builds systems with the next user in mind.
“I always ask myself whether someone else could pick it up and use it a few months from now...”
AI still needs structure.
“At first, I thought the solution was simply writing better prompts... the real solution was improving the entire workflow... AI works best with good guardrails.”
Chapter Three: Traffic and Copy
With the foundation in place, the team can start bringing more people into the system.
Paid ads create faster feedback. SEO builds visibility over time. Copy gives the whole journey a clear voice.
Kezia
Paid Ads Lead

Kezia starts with two things: accurate tracking and an offer that can already convert.
“Need to know which ads bring actual revenue, not just random clicks... having a page and offer that already convert visitors into buyers is the baseline.”
The wider business matters just as much as the ad platform.
In one land surveying campaign, the team shifted from slower-moving commercial projects to residential services with a faster turnaround.
“Aligning our ads with this new service priority resulted in a 90% increase in deals created and... scaling the total revenue from 465k to almost 1.3 million.”
The result didn’t come from spending more.
It came from aligning the ads with what the business could sell and deliver well.
Julian
SEO Specialist

SEO is the slower burn.
It relies on technical details customers may never see, but search engines do.
“The technical SEO, including the meta descriptions, SEO titles, and alt-text of all images... All data is relevant to Google.”
When rankings move in the wrong direction, Julian focuses on the cause and the next action.
“Find the reason for the losses in rankings and provide a clear guide on how to avoid this and do better for the clients.”
Not flashy. Very useful.
Leigh
Brand & Conversion Copywriter

My role is to turn strategy, customer research and team expertise into language people can understand and act on.
That starts long before the headline.
“Before I write a single word, I focus heavily on brand alignment and deep topic research... It's about ensuring every piece of information we provide is completely trustworthy and informative.”
Not every idea wins.
“When a clever headline loses a test, I remind myself that trial and error is just a part of every win... I lean on my team.”
There is always another draft.
Chapter Four: Culture and Community
Remote culture doesn’t happen just because everyone joins the same Google Chat channel.
It needs trust, clear communication and people who are comfortable asking questions before small issues become large ones.
Allaissa
Social Media & Content Lead

For Allaissa, growing a community starts with trust rather than simply posting more content.
“People don't follow or engage with the brand just because of post consistency... The effective approach is building in public.”
That means showing up authentically and creating content that genuinely helps the audience.
That same philosophy also shapes how she works with clients, balancing their vision with the strategy needed to achieve their goals.
“In the past, we focused too much on what we thought looked good instead of what their audience actually wanted... we just gave them what they asked for, but we should have pushed harder to explain why a different approach would deliver better results.”
The same openness also shapes the team's culture.
“People help each other without hesitation... everyone is respectful of everyone's time and perspectives.”
Sarah
Admin Manager

Sarah keeps the team informed, coordinated and supported.
In a remote business, that means creating the connection that would normally happen naturally in an office.
“Since we don't have a physical breakroom, I keep the team connected through regular check-ins, clear communication, and being approachable...”
Her view on maintaining that culture is refreshingly simple.
“Why fix what isn't broken... our team has great communication and work morals, ensuring all feel connected, supported.”
Sometimes the best system is simply a team that communicates properly.
Growth Behind the Screens
When you know who is setting the direction, protecting the brand, building the website, driving traffic, writing the message and keeping the team connected, the work stops looking like a collection of separate services.
It becomes one system.
That doesn’t mean every campaign works immediately or every process runs perfectly.
We test. We lose. We learn. We rebuild.
The difference is that nobody has to do it alone.
Wandering Lion is proud of the growth we help create for clients. But we’re equally proud of the growth happening inside the team.
We want people to strengthen their skills, contribute their perspective and become more capable through the work.
That’s our stepping-stone philosophy.
Behind every website, campaign, piece of content and automation is a group of real people working across different screens, locations and disciplines.
Different roles. Different time zones. One growth engine.
Growth Comes From One Connected System, Not Separate Specialists
The article shows that remote delivery works when strategy, creative execution, technology, traffic, content and operations support the same commercial objective. Wandering Lion’s response is to establish direction first, build the foundations properly and scale only when the wider system is ready to convert attention into meaningful growth.
Different Roles. One Growth Engine.
Wandering Lion’s remote team works as one connected commercial system rather than a collection of isolated specialists. Clear direction, reliable foundations, disciplined growth activity and strong communication keep the work aligned.
Direction Before Delivery
Creative ideas and marketing activity need a clear commercial problem to solve. Strategy establishes the direction, while operational structure prevents remote delivery from becoming fragmented or reactive.
Build the Foundation First
Visual consistency, reliable websites and well-designed automation create the system that future growth depends on. These foundations reduce rework, improve trust and prepare the business for more traffic and leads.
Scale What the System Can Convert
Paid ads, SEO and conversion copy perform better when the offer, website, tracking and customer journey are already working together. More activity is not the answer when the system underneath it is unclear.
Remote Culture Requires Intentional Communication
Trust, openness and clear communication keep people supported across different locations and disciplines. The team’s willingness to share work early, ask questions and address mistakes directly strengthens both delivery and client outcomes.

Start With the System, Not More Activity
When growth feels fragmented, begin with a Growth Audit to identify where positioning, the website, customer journey, follow-up, reporting or internal systems are slowing results. Wandering Lion will clarify what needs to be fixed, what needs to be built and what is ready to scale, helping the business grow revenue without creating more unnecessary workload.
